Children Home Expansion

Praise GOD everyone! We are so extremely happy to share with you the new testimony of what God is doing in Africa. Many things have happened, like the outpatient medical clinic that was started to help disadvantaged Africans. Today, I want to share with us about new things God has done in the children’s home during the past two months.  Since we started the home in October 2012, GOD has been faithful, as we have seen His provision. WE ARE SO THANKFUL TO GOD that He gave us a bigger house that can accommodate many children and the other necessities required in the children's home.

We have been able to bring in more two children, now making them four.  The names of the two children we have added are:  Kazibwe Ronald (10 years old) and Musime Comfort (7 years old).

Kazibwe Ronald

Ronald is a double orphan and is a young boy whose parents died of HIV/aids in a deep village.  They left their three children suffering and among them are two (Keith and Ronald), which are also infected with HIV virus. Due to lack of care and anyone to provide for them, the disease has progressed and has especially caused Ronald to become more ill and sickly (immune suppresses). We found him needing our care to be brought back to life.

When Ronald came into the children’s home, we found that he has a disability of hemiplegia, (the right part of the body was paralyzed and the right hand cannot be used to do anything and has difficulty working). It has been our role to help him regain life and we are ministering to him.

As I write this, GOD is moving and restoring him!!! Because of your giving, he is on treatment, nutritional supplements, and is getting physical therapy.  In one month, we have seen a DRASTIC improvement in his life, due to what God is enabling us to do for him.

Musime Comfort

The little girl we took in is Comfort. She is 7 years old and is very much happy to be in our children’s home. She has been living in VERY HARSH CONDITIONS IN A REFUGEE CAMP, after she was brought to Uganda from the Congo. Since we have taken her in, I see a big smile on her face and she is adjusting well.

Momma Mary reminded me of recent in our conversation that these children are GIFTS FROM HEAVEN, and indeed they are.

I am also remembering the sermon I preached in the children’s service of recent at church that “saving a child is like building a firm foundation for the future.”  

I BELIEVE THE GOD-FEARING FUTURE IS IN OUR HANDS (YOURS AND MINE) AND WE CAN ACHIEVE IT WHEN WE HELP THESE YOUNG CHILDREN ATTAIN THEIR FULL POTENTIAL, THOSE WHO SEEM TO HAVE DEATH WITHIN THEM, AND ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE IS NO ONE TO HELP THEM!!! 

EACH AND EVERY LIFE IS WORTH SAVING!!! IMAGINE IF YOU WERE THAT PERSON! WOULD YOU WANT SOMEONE TO HELP SAVE YOUR LIFE?  THESE CHILDREN ARE AT RISK AND THEY ARE GOD’S CREATION ALSO!!! WE DO MUCH TO SAVE “mother earth” BUT WHAT ABOUT SAVING DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN, WHO DO NOT HAVE A CHANCE OUTSIDE OF OUR HELP?? THEIR LIVES ARE IN OUR HANDS!!  GOD CALLS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US TO HELP!! IT IS OUR DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITY TO ANSWER GOD’S CALL!!!!

Medical Emergency Update-Magidu

On March 17, 2013 we posted a plea for a medical emergency of a young 10 year old boy, named Magidu.  He was brought by his mother to one of Dr. Gilbert’s medical clinics, which was held in a remote village in Uganda, in the district of BUGIRI.  He had been playing with some other children, had gotten kicked, fell into a pit, and broke his 2 femur bones.  When Dr. Gilbert contacted me, he told me that if Magidu did not have emergency surgery, he would probably die within a 3 month period.

We posted the need on the blog, and because of the great response of caring people, we were able to raise the necessary funds for Magidu’s surgery.  After weeks of working through some major challenges and lack of knowledge regarding medical care/surgery amongst the African people, we were able to bring Magidu to Kampala for what we anticipated to be 2 surgeries and about 2 - 3 months of rehabilitation.

Because there was a 6 month time period between the date of injury and the surgery, Magidu’s little body had filled full of puss and infection and the heads of the femur bones had rotted.  Through antibiotics, we were able to help get the infection under control and after tests, x-rays, blood transfusions, etc., we were finally ready for surgery.

Dr. Gilbert said that by the time the 4 hour surgery was performed on Magidu, Monday, April 29^th, his health had deteriorated even more.   We were very thankful to the Lord that although this was the case, only 1 surgery was required to put in crews into the top of his femur bones to would hold them in place in his pelvic area. He has recovered from the surgery very well and is currently in traction for about 10 days to help enable him to stand in a more upright position.  He will remain in the hospital for about another week, be able to go home for one month under Dr. Gilbert’s care, and then return to the hospital in Kampala for follow up.

 Dr. Gilbert said that he will need to have surgery again around the age of 18 (after his bones have fully grown) to put in plates and screws, so that he will be able to walk better.  We have seen the miracle hand of God in this young boy’s life!!!!!

I want to thank all those who have given so very sacrificially to help make Magidu’s surgery/rehab a reality!!!  Because of all who have given, Magidu and his mother have seen and witnessed the love of Jesus Christ.  Magidu’s mother stated that she has never seen this Christian kind of love before.

THE LOVE OF CHRIST CAN CHANGE ANY SITUATION!!!
